East to West roadtrip with Chris Morse in Westy

Chris and I headed south on November 15 from Lorain, Ohio just in time to avoid two days of snowfall in that area.





We drove long and hard to get to New Orleans and some good food and music on Bourbon Street Sunday night.






We then drove toward Texas to spend time with my friend Gonzo, his wife Pearl and son Geishi.

We were lucky to have decent weather throughout....as soon as we departed the Ohio area.


We also visited with my stepdaughter, Shaula, at her Saloon/sports bar, where she works as a manager/bartender.
It was great to see her in her own "digs"....



As usual we took loads of pics.







The campervan functioned superbly except for a strange intermittent missfire that has occured four times in 5,000 miles....usually lasting just a few seconds to a minute or two....cause unknown. The strange thing is it seems the miss is electrical because it is immediate and stops all ignition momentarily then kicks back in just as fast. There is eclectronic fuel injection so that may be the cause, with oxygen and other sensors that dictate its functions.

We camped at State and Federal parks in Texas, Arizona and California, enjoying the diverse natural habitats at each spot, and taking photos.






After covering 3,500 miles in nine days we made Long Beach. Thanksgiving was enjoyed with family in Ojai, turkey, honey glazed ham and all the trimmings. Life is good. We will be off to Hawaii on Tuesday for the winter. Keep posted for more photos of winter in Hawaii
